I would definitely recommend a visit to Sonoko. Last year I was in extreme back pain - a mixture of family-related stress and sitting at a computer all day - I had 4 sessions with Sonoko and the relief was bliss. Just after one therapeutic massage the pain was reduced. With each session the pain lessened and my back was not tightening up again. From there I had monthly massages which also helped relieve my intermittent headaches. Sonoko has the right blend of knowledge and ability to understand the problem and fix it. I was impressed. I look forward to booking my next session just for the hell of it!

You're always welcomed on arrival and the smallest details are in order like the use of clean towels, aroma oils, selection of bathroom soaps and the music played. I have learnt about my body better since coming across Bodytopia starting from the way I breathe and how I can loosen my mind and body when I need to.

She also cares about what stresses and life events I may be going through and lets me talk it out. Your subtle and gentle advice has helped me keep myself together the past few months.

Sonoko was recommended to me by a friend and it has been the best recommendation. Sonoko is more than a massage therapist, her interest in your health is paramount and her knowledge of how the body works is immense. I entrust my health to her and what she can’t answer she researches. I have a monthly appointment and have made going to Bodytopia part of my preventative regime. I can’t recommend her highly enough.

Wow! Sonoko's massage was really different and really good. Such a friendly welcome at the door and then the room was professional, comfortable, but not fussy. Quick but thorough medical history and assessment and then the massage. Sonoko put steam heat packs on me which softened my muscles like never before, and used hot steam towels as she finished each body area. Her experienced hands found all my tight and tender spots and she released these what she called "trigger points" with her hands, but also with cupping. I have always loved cupping but she is a master of it. In some spots she put glass cups done with the traditional flame, but she also slid silicone cups which felt amazing. At times it was sore, but so relaxing I drifted in and out of sleep a few times. At the end Sonoko put a tiny little needle on a plaster on my main remaining sore spot which she instructed me to leave in place for a few days to further relieve pain. Japan is famous for great service and that is what you will get at Sonoko's. It was the little touches that made it different. The welcome and you fely she really cared, the water wasn't just ordinary but had fruit and tasted yummy, the heat and stem, the little needles to keep the treatment lasting. It was just different and the best massage I have had here in Australia or overseas. I have recommended my friends and no-one has been disappointed. She describes her style as East meets West and it was.
