Vindaloo is sub-par and lacking. My experience was not a good one. Was a rush of diners and thus they were understaffed and my meal took a while to come, and yet it was overcooked.
North indian Thali is excellent. Staff is very friendly and soft spoken. Seats are really good and Ambiance is excellent.
Approximate cost: $50
Great food. Every time I eat here the food is great, well priced too. I would Recommend this restaurant to any one who likes Indian cuisine.
Approximate cost: $29
I had bad experience with Billu last week. The service was really slow and the food was not fresh. I have ordered the Indian bread and curry and it was not good enough.
Fabulous Indian food hub. Sweets, Indian cuisines etc all are best in tastes. We gave my daughters birthday party here in Billus banquet. It was best in regards to staff & service. food was hot & served to all the guests with lots of love. I miss Sydney for Billus alot.
Approximate cost: $900
When I went to last time at Billy, the quality of the food was not good, the staff service is low and even they are not listening to you. We have ordered pannerr tikka and they gave us chicken tikka.
Approximate cost: $25
Before I write my review, i do want to point out that their website address is actually www.billu.com.au
I went here on a weekend and have to agree with most of the other reviews here. I found the butter chicken to be nice but the vindaloo was not as appetizing. The service let them down too, I understand being busy but this is something they need to make adjustments for.
Definitely a lot of hype about them but reality is totally opposite.Food not freshly cooked as we could feel colder parts in meat and sauces, highly likely reheated.Fairly bland tasting compare to other indian eateries and staff, well pretty much clueless, slow, disorganised, unhelpful and service without a smile. We have found two little gems that we friquent when eating indian and we are not going back, neither do we recommend them to friends.
I have visited them few times, the service was really good. The staff is friendly. They are quite busy during weekend, prefer to book them. The food was ok.
I have been to this restaurants few times, my experience is ok. When they are busy their food and their service goes worst but if you go during quiet time, the food and service is really good.
my friend took me to this place. We were there around evening tea time so we decided to have some snacks and ordered pani puri (indian street snack) but were not impressed with the taste but I have not yet found a single place in Sydney that serves good pani puri so I woldn`t blame them. While leaving we bought some Indian sweets and they were good.
Approximate cost: $10-15
this is the only indian restaurant I have ever been to, they offer variety of Indian dishes. This place seems to be very busy all the time. I can't fault this place, service is very quick and prices are not high at all. I didn't find waitresses that friendly at all but that doesn't bother me may be she was having hard time serving all those hungry customers. Really good place to visit if you are into Indian food
I love coming here the enormous Ghee Roast Masala Dola ( crispy massive pancake type bread). It's like the size of my arm. So crisopy, flaky and it's filled with potatoes. It's pretty much a crepe like texture. I also recommend the chicken madras and rice, The mango lassi is very refreshing ( you will need it after the chicken madras) as it's a bit spicy. They also offer an array of desserts. Staff are friendly as well.
Approximate cost: $13 +
we always know that the way asians make food are bit untidy and unclean. But Billu's are really clean and tidy. but the food is not that tasty. but apart from that the money we spend for the food is not worth but sometimes their food is really good
Approximate cost: $25
I was always told that Indian Restaurant was not very clean. But When I walked into the restaurant, I found the different story. The restaurant is so busy and the waitress are so helpful and of course very clean. The food is so fresh and delicious and curry chicken is must order.
nice indian restaurant in harris park and probably one of the best and of the most busy compared to the ones around. not 100 percent clean but much better than others . also great food and great staff
I always fear indian restaurants because most of them are not clean at all. I always look to see if there are foreign people in the restaurant as a sign that it is acceptable. last night billu was nearly fulll with lots of foreigners. we had chicken butter and chicken tikki massala (16 dollars each) and they were fairly good. Had an italian waitress who was very lovely. Problem is restroom is not the cleanest
Located in Harris Park (a mostly Indian-inhabited suburb), it's no surprise that this place has a wide variety of authentic Indian cuisine. And it definitely does not fail to deliver. The food tastes fantastic - personal recommendations include the Chicken 65 for an excellent appetiser, and the Butter Chicken, which is incredibly rich and flavourful.
However, the restaurant is usually very packed and noisy though, and the service is just mediocre. Each individual main course isn't exactly cheap, so drop in with a couple of friends if you want to get the most value out of your money.
You MUST try this one out if you're looking for good authentic Indian food. Rating: 4/5
Tasty food and cheap price. Plenty of food items in menu. Typical indian style restaurant. Good customer service. Chaat items are good as well.
Very few pure vegetarian options. Gets very crowded over weekends, especially for dinner. Indian food is authentic. Service is not great.
Approximate cost: $15
If you want to eat all the food in menu, you need to go on weekend like chat, chhole and all.
the dosa, biryani and weekend stuff are awesome/
Approximate cost: $20
After reading good review, we went to this restaurant on 25 Feb 2011 for lunch . The food was awesome and inexpensive. I really enjoyed their Thali.
Approximate cost: $15
This is one of the best place to have cheap Indian food in Sydney. They have south Indian and North Indian dish as well.
If you want to eat all the food in menu, you need to go on weekend like chat, chhole and all.
But the best part of all for me is to have Non Veg Thali, yummy.
Approximate cost: $15
I would think twice going to Billu's again. the food quality is OK and reasonable.
Service we got was not that good.
The indian food was very inexpensive and filling too. It was great for a simple, ordinary meal.
We have been to this place a few times. The food is quite yummy. However, the service is usually slow.
Busy place. Good place for a decent, cheap Indian dinner.
Approximate cost: $15
Rather delicious food is found here and though it is quite busy as it is popular, it is still a great place to dine.
