We went to Benbu based on reviews. Being vegetarian we found the menu a little lacking in choices. What was lacking in quantity was made up for in deliciousness.
We ate veg tempura udon (which wasn't on the menu) so nice of them to make it specially and soba stir fry, both were fresh and tasty. We will be back.
The crispy spicy salmon roll, filled with salmon and tempura 'crumbles' and rolled in flying fish roe, was great. Soft shell crab roll drizzled with wasabi mayo was tasty, but could do without the sweet potato chunks included in the roll, in my opinion.
The sushi main meal had pretty passable sushi, a little on the small side though. The bento boxes are really good value and the prices overall are good.
The space is a little bit cramped but the service was quick and attentive so all up a good choice amongst the FOUR(!) sushi joints now on Stanley St.
