I have been here a couple of times now, mainly for special occasions because this restaurant is special. Their cuisine is so authentic, so delicious and full of flavour without being overpowering. My favourite would have to be their hot vindaloo, the hotter the better, I love it. Way to hot for my girlfriend, she usually goes for something milder. A great atmosphere, really takes you away and the staff are great, so friendly and helpful. No complaints here, an excellent authentic Indian restaurant.

I don't mind this place for their food.
I've been there many times and there have been times the food's been a bit under par, but generally they are good.
The people are actually Indian, so they give it that authentic touch, but that's about it.

I believe Bay of Bengal is one of the best Indian restaurants in Adelaide, their cusine is consistantly good with customer service to match. Their portions are generous and well presentated not to forget the flavours, so authentic and delicious.

Will definitely be returning over the christmas break with family and friends.

Bay of Bengal is my absolute favourite Indian Restaurant. Have been here a few times now with both family and friends. My most recent dining experience was with my husband celebrating his milestone birthday!

We have never been disappointed with Bay of Bengal, everything is always perfect from the moment we arrive and are seated at our table. The staff have always been so friendly and helpful with our meal selections. The atmosphere is fabulous, and I cannot forget to mention how delicious their indian cuisine is, tasting so authentic.

We are always so impressed with the presentation and mouth watering flavours of our meals. Once again we ordered the mixed entree as it is a great way to try everything. My husband was set on ordering the "HOT" Beef Vindaloo again and commented - 'it's perfect!' I went for something milder, the Butter Chicken which has the most delicious creamy sauce, this may now be my favouirte! A must have with your meals are the roti's and pappadoms as well as their yummy chutneys. I cannot rate Bay of Bengal anything else but 10/10.

Thank you Bay of Bengal as you made my husbands birthday special.....

Have been here 3 times using a Living Social Voucher and every time has been wonderful - Great Service and Brilliant food. There was certainly no skimping on anything, even though we had paid a reduced price.

My partner is a "Korma" fan, while I love the Butter chicken.
We also both love the Garlic Bhatura (similar to Naan bread) and the Sume Ki Bhaji (green beans with tomato and capsicum). Absolutely delicious!

The regular prices here, are higher than most of the other Indian restaurants we have been to but the quality of the food makes it worthwhile paying the extra.

Highly recommend - Rate it a 9/10!

I have been to the Bay of Bengal a couple of times now and each time I go, I have to order their HOT Vindaloo, I do mean HOT, so be aware if you try it. Of course not all meals are hot, my girlfriend goes for the milder curries like the lamb korma. A must have with the curries are their rotis, just love dipping them in the curry. We also make sure we order the mixed entree as you get to try a bit of everything and so delicious.

Not only do they serve fabulous authentic Indian food but also found the service to be excellent and found it to have a really enjoyable atmosphere. I would give them 10/10, my absolute favourite Indian Restaurant.

Definitely recommend to you try, you wont be disappointed!

Four of dined there using Living Social vouchers. Our booking couldn't be found when we first arrived so there was a wait for some minutes while eventually it was found in a diary but had not been transferred to the main booking journal. Having established that there was a valid booking there was another wait while tables were rearranged to fit us in. All fine - we all have these things happen but perhaps a complimentary drink while we were waiting would have been appropriate. The food and service were very good and we spent over and above what was covered by our vouchers. Would probably dine there again but would confirm booking before going.

I had two really excellent meals here while I was staying in Adelaide. This restaurant served delicious food with lots of choice as well as friendly and helpful service. I recommend that you try their special nan breads which are really special and arrive puffed up like little balls.

Sophisticated and quality of food is second to none. We've been dining here for many years now and we find the quality of food and service has never waivered in that time.

After reading so many wonderful reviews on this restaurant, my husband and I just knew that this was the place for us to go for our wedding anniversary. I believe this is one of the best Indian restaurants in Adelaide (we have been to quite a few). We found the customer service to be excellent, the food just mouth watering, we couldn't wait to get started. Tried the mixed entree, loved the bhiajus, pakaros and samosas, so delicious. For mains my husband had the vindaloo and yes it was very hot (just the way he likes it), I tried it but it was way tooooooo hot for me - I really needed a drink. I was extremely happy with my absolutely delicious mild lamb korma. We also had the rotis with our meals - this is a must. Love rotis and their pappadoms and sweet mango chutney. We did feel the prices were a little high, but well worth it, you could really taste the quality. We had a fabulous anniversary dinner at this wonderful indian restaurant with very friendly service and a pleasant atmosphere. Will be returning with friends next time. Highly recommend.

Bay of Bengal is one of the best Indian restaurant in Adelaide. The prices are bit expensive compare to other ordinary restaurants but you will love the quality. There are some room for improvements into customer service.

We visited this charming restaurant for the first time using a voucher.... which unlike some other businesses, did not detract from the service or quality of food provided. We added the suggested accompaniments to our curries which complimented the already plentiful meal superbly. Other positives include comfortable chairs, quality glassware & good size portions. We enjoyed a delicious dining experience & will certainly return .

I have dined at the Bay of Bengal for many years now. The meals are always tasty, the staff are friendly and I find the atmosphere pretty good too. I love their Lamb Saag but I like to try different meals that I have not had before. All have been enjoyed although I now know I am not a fan of Vindaloo. Way to hot for me.
A few years ago I had my birthday celebration there as well and my guests all enjoyed their food and had a good time. Worth a visit.

This long established and charming restaurant offers the diner a unique and varied menu of superb indian curries.
Enjoy the experience of their authentic curry, complemented by one of the many fine wines available from their wine list- bottled or by the glass.

We go here often and it is a bit hit or miss with the service and food. Friday was a great night for both and were even told what the desert special was (was not told earlier of entree or main specials). Although the service can be mediocre the quality of the food is usually good.

The service was great - no complaints at all. The food was tasty however the quality in the meat was very poor. I had more globs of fat and gristle than actual meat in my rogan josh. Prices were higher than the average indian restaurant and so I was expecting more.

First time I went it was fantastic! The food and service were both great!
The second time, it's was very poorly for both food and service.
The third, it's was just average.
I hope if you go there, you get a good day.
