I ordered a Senior Meal last night.
Sausages Mash and peas. $30 with 20% off for a senior. What they don’t say on the menu is you will only receive half a meal. I received only one small sausage with mash and peas. Put it this way, first time ever I left a pub hungry
Bunnings Sausages a bigger than what I had
My husband had Carbonara as a senior meal once before and only received half a bowl
Lesson learned, do not order Seniors meal. Won’t go back
Approximate cost: $24
I would like to point out that we were seated right next to the massive que lining up to place their orders and being there are no table menus everyone that cannot read the menu board tries to squish a little closer to read the board. Resulting in an uncomfortable night with random people knocking into my chair and having to listen to peoples obnoxious complaints about not being able to read the board. I also wasn't able to relax and dive into a conversation with my wife as I really didn't want to share our life events with complete strangers. I'm sorry but this outdated system needs to be reviewed and upgraded
Great atmosphere for a family gathering. I've eaten there a couple of times now for various occasions and the food and service is always excellent.
There is a vast menu to choose from with everything from steak to seafood to Asian cuisine - something for everyone, including the kids.
The desserts are to die for!
Prices are very reasonable and this is a favourite for me when I visit my family in Frankston.
Approximate cost: $25-30
I've gone three times now and i really enjoy the food there. each time ive had the r fish and chips and they were delicious and the fish just melted in your mouth, was so fresh! service isnt the best but the food is great
I love this pub. It has a open fire place and is just a nice cozy older style pub. I have taken my kids there a couple of times and it is not the greatest for kids as they don't offer a playground or any kids activities so we try to keep this as a adults only night out. The food is great and is always piping hot when it come out. They offer a lot of variety for the seniors as well.
Come here once a fortnight in front of beautiful fife place and foxtel great service super menu food wonderful atmosphere great also has bar at good prices tab pokies free coffee and great decorLocated next to public transport and has accommodation also
My fiancee and I always go here for dinner. Love the atmospehere(sitting in front of fire on a cold winters day, is always nice) love the range of food, with every main meal you purchase you get free soup, rolls and salad. will always copme back here
During my visit to Vic, I dined here on 3 occasions and enjoyed each meal very much. This is a large tavern with fire places and a large menu to choose from. They even give 20% discount to seniors. The meals includes a bowl of soup, bread rolls and a salad bowl, so great value. Sunday they have some amazing oldies playing jazz. One lady on the keyboards was 101! If in Vic you can't go past this for a good feed and enjoyable experience.
Approximate cost: $20
The Baxter Tavern is an old favourite for my family. We used to go there over 30 years ago on a Friday night, and it hasn't changed much. Pretty much always get a good meal, the staff are extremely efficient and friendly. Great place to take the family for a meal. Sunday lunch has the Tommy Carter band which is great for lovers of jazz.
Approximate cost: $20
The Baxter Tavern is in a lovely secluded spot in Baxter. It has a drive through bottle shop and a pokies area. It also has a restaurant which serve the most wonderful food. You have the choice of a starter and main or main and dessert. they also have a salad bar YUM!!! The service can be at times a little slow but I believe their food is worth the wait. There is no playground for the children to play in but they are very accommodating for children providing high chairs where needed and there is also a nappy changing area. I especially enjoy their pastas and my daughter enjoys their fish and chips. Definitely the place to go if you want to enjoy a lovely meal out with friends or partner.
Baxter tavern is our favorite restaurant of all time! Beautiful and cosy place. Always friendly staff and excellent food. Never had a bad meal. Love the choices and with the main meals, you can have soup, rolls and salad bar included very good. Meals are of a great size and usually depending how busy come out in a timely manner. Booking on a busy night is suggested and it is always booked out Fridays and weekends :-)
Approximate cost: $25
This is a place we keep returning to because of the value, service and entertainment. Great variety in the menu and pensioner discounts as well. It's good to book because it is popular and get there early or you will be part of the long line up to order...still it's worth the wait. Great family restaurant (If you need a high chair you will need to book this) or for a group - love the log fires in winter!
Great food, well portioned, good price. we often go with a big group (20) and the food comes out really quick, nice staff, plenty of parking. my only gripe is that the line to order is almost out the door the last couple of time we have been. it takes longer to order food than it does for the food to turn up to the table. An extra register would work a treat
A group of friends along with myself and husband dined here a few weeks ago and have dined here before. Excellent service from the staff and food is always perfect. highly recommend to anyone looking for a night out with friends.
Have dined there several times and would have to be the first place we think of when deciding where to eat. Extensive varity menu of good quality food. Has bistro, sports bar, public bar, pokies and even accomodation.
I personally have never been but have heard nothing but great reviews. Have had mates have parties there and they were very happy. Big thumbs up from everyone that has recommended it to me.
Great pub, hasn't changed much over the years - still great value for money and a nice place to have lunch with the family
I've been here once but wanting to go back. Yes, there is complimentary soup, rolls and salad which is lovely. The prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere is warm and relaxed, somewhere you can bring the whole family or as just a couple. Your gran would love this place too. When we have family visiting from outside of town we will bring them here as there's something to suit everyone and the menu is quite extensive and impressive. The queue to order and pay was quite horrendous but when my partner brought me a glass of bubbly the wait in the queue was magically bearable. Mind you, although the queue to pay can be tedious, the service given by staff is wonderful. From memory the ATM machine didn't work very well and charged you for the service and then the bar staff told us you can get cash out from their terminals at the bar - handy tip for you if you haven't brought enough cash!
Approximate cost: $Well priced
Smells great when you get into the carpark! Food is great and decent price. Soup and rolls are great and extra bonus. Atmosphere is warm and cosy. Can get very busy though and queues to order build up.
Simple atmosphere, but wonderful food. Average pricing for pub food. Definitely be returning.
Enjoyed a trio of dips and the Eye fillet. Surprised to see complimentary rolls and soup - who does that anymore?
GOOD VALUE THEY HAVE FREE SOUP, ROLLS AND SALAD WITH YOUR MEALS AND THEY CATER FOR GLUTEN FREE PEOPLE. THE EVEN HAVE GLUTEN FREE HOT CHIPS WHICH ARE HARD TO COME BY AT MOST EATING VENUES. THE SERVICE IS GREAT. I THINK THIS IS BECAUSE IT IS A PRIVATELY OWNED HOTEL. THE GOOD IS PUB FOOD ALWAYS FRESH AS IT IS ALWAYS BUSY. ALSO YOU CAN BE SEATED NEXT TO A COSY FIRE PLACE IN WINTER WHICH IS GREAT FOR A FIRST DATE IF YOU LIVE LOCAL. YOU MAY HAVE TO WAIT AS IT DOES GET BUSY I THINK IT IS WORTH THE WAIT!
Approximate cost: $APPROX $20 - $30 MAIN
I must admit besides the lovely food they managed to get out of the tiny kitchen, the worst thing in the whole place, there "Point Of Sale"!!! There's only one register and if its mildly busy (less the 50% capacity) you are standing in a line for what I think is way to long (more than 5-10mins) and no that's not just a once off
I hadn't been here for a while and I was pleasantly surprised. The decor has been re done and the food was spectacular, for the price. On a weekend there was a music act, which was awful, but at least they tried. Good for kids and adults alike.
I loved this place. It was warm, friendly and down to earth. Meals were very reasonably priced and tasted great. All the staff were friendly and very helpful. It's nothing fancy, but a great place to eat with friends and family.
Food is quite good with the exception of the chicken parmagianas which are made from thigh meat (not good). Staff were nice in the Bistro area however the venue lacks atmosphere and decor is quite dated
Approximate cost: $21
Lovely atmosphere and good value, combine with a traditional pub menu for a great eating experience. Free soup and bread rolls are great for the hip-pocket, as are the week-day specials. A real hit with our family.
Fantastic tavern superb menu and great value..gorgeous huge open fires, city slickers have to try it..we down on the peninsula love it. Book though..its always busy
This place has beautiful ambience, and is a fun night out with live music and open fireplaces to set a great relaxing mood. Their food is delicious, and their prices are really reasonable.
The food here is incredible, including the free bread and soup which many taverns have stopped providing these days. The prices are affordably accpetable, and the atmosphere of live easy listening music and open fires is unbeatable
Excellent food. the calamari is great price. So good my partner goes out with his mates there every Wednesday night for dinner and to put on a few bets
