Barnstone Boarding Kennels & Cattery

Due to an unexpected illness Buddy was taken to Barnstone and his allergies not mentioned at check in THIS time but he had been there before.
For over at least a week he was showing signs of sever skin distress and as far as I can tell they did nothing. They SAY they gave him a medicated bath but when I got him home I had to wash him twice to get the residue of the smelly stuff and the water was dirty.
The "pupdate" they sent 5days before I picked him up already showed his skin as having sever allergic reactions and when I took him home he couldn't stop scratching in the car. Not till I bathed him, gave him ahis medicine and used cool compresses did the itching subside.
They will NEVERT get another pet of mine or anyone I know either.

My dog comes home looking fit, healthy and happy. The taxi service is very useful and the staff seems obliging and very helpful.

Always fabulous care at Barnstone. We have been using them for around 25 years, and have never had any problems. My pup always gets excited when we arrive and comes home happy and healthy.

I had my dog and two cats boarding there, They are extremely friendly. I believe my fur babys enjoyed their stay.

Our pet got kennel cough during it's stay here for 5 days last month. I sent a feedback to the owner and did not even hear back from them. I was not seeking reimbursement for the vet fees, so to not even acknowledge my email is very unprofessional of them.

Our labrador loves staying at Barnstone - she cries when we pick her up bring her home - misses all her Barnstone friends!

We actually describe Barnstone as our pets holiday resort home.
Our dog Rufus and cat Millie as so well looked after. You can always tell because they act with the staff as they act with us at home. The facilities are brilliant and the staff always friendly and professional. We would go nowhere else :)

My family has had all of our 3 dogs go to Barnstone for years and years. We don't have to worry about Harley when we go on holidays because we know he is in safe hands. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the service is phenomenal. I would recommend Barnstone to everyone because we LOVE Barnstone!!!

Our family have been taking our precious Miniature Schnauzer fur babies (Jasper and now Milo) to Barnstone for about 15 years. Wouldn’t go anywhere else! Our furbabies just love it and Barnstone loves them back! It’s so comforting to know that we can go on holidays and our furbaby is going to have a great holidays too.

My family have been using Barnstone for over 5 years, and honestly don't have enough space to write about how wonderful they are!
We have a 14 year old Labrador who is cared for just as well as she would be at home (If not better with all the extra cuddles). All staff at Barnstone are extremely attentive and caring - they are the only family I trust with my Labrador. Since finding Barnstone, I no longer go away on holidays worried about my Lab. When we return home she is always energetic and content - which is testiment to how well she has been cared for.

I have been boarding at Barnstone for 20 years . Milo now Coco. They both have always been really happy holidaying at this caring kennels. Set in a lovely location with staff and owners.

We love Barnstone kennels. More importantly our dog Bessie does, in fact we suspect she might love it more than home. She sees as her second home. She is well cared for and always comes home healthy and happy. The dogs have plenty of play time. The staff are friendly and professional. We trust them completely to look after our dear Bessie.

We've used Barnstone for nearly 4 years and our Goldy and Retriever thinks it's their second home! They always come home smiling and smelling really good. The staff have always accommodating and friendly - I thoroughly recommend Barnstone for your pets accommodation needs.

Highly recommend this kennel. It is very clean, well organised and run by very caring, helpful staff. Next week will be the 3rd time we board our 20th month old labrador at Barnstone and each time we drive into the car park she can't get up to the front desk quickly enough. We we collect her she is in great condition, freshly bathed and seems bright and happy so no complaints from us.

I have been boarding my Bull Terrier at Barnstone for many years. Its a family run business and the staff and owners are so lovely and fantastic with the animals. My dog is always so excited to arrive there which is extremely comforting and so happy going home also. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this kennel!

i Have been boarding all my dogs with Lisa and Marcel for at least 18 years. They are so amazing that the 3 dogs I have at present when i got to pick them up they try to pull you back inside. When i do get them home they sleep for a couple of days as they are so tired from playing all day. I would recommend Barnstone to anyone without hesitation.

I cannot recommend Barnstone highly enough. When I was growing up, we used to board our old English sheepdog with Barnstone (when the current owners' parents ran the business!), so I've been a client effectively for almost 40 years & wouldn't dream of leaving my two Burmese baby boys with anyone else. Marcel, Lisa & their staff know my cats, remember them every time & their little quirks. They always come home well fed & happy. On this most recent occasion (this week), Mango needed veterinary care & Lisa was onto it straight away, even arranging a transfer to my local vet & staying in touch with my Mum (who also boards the family cat with Barnstone) on a daily basis with updates. These guys deserve the awesome reviews they get & I'm pleased to add mine to their growing list of glowing endorsements!

We have been using Barnstone for over a year now, after having a terrible experience with another "so-called" reputable boarding kennel. Lisa, Marcel and the family are extremely personable and caring. Our Labrador gets excited in the car when she knows she is going to see Lisa and the family, and she comes home a little unhappy (in a good way) because she misses her home away from home. We used to avoid going away on holidays as we were concerned about the wellbeing of our Lab, however we now enjoy holidays and know that our Lab looks forward to hers also. It's extremely reassuring to know that someone loves and cares for our dog as well as they do in our absence! I would NEVER use any other boarding kennel, nor would I recommend anyone else.

I have used this kennel for the last three years for my labradors. The staff are so friendly and helpful and very caring about my dogs. My older labrador had hotspots while visiting once a while ago (she is a bit prone to them) and they took her along to the vet when they became concerned about them. That sort of care and responsibility is what I have come to expect and love about Barnstone. I will continue to use Barnstone whenever we need to board our dogs.

The service is always fantastic, the staff are super friendly and are genuine animal loves. The staff are also really accommodating to my cats specific needs. For example when my cats were kittens, the staff would spend extra time making sure they were kept entertained. When we come to pick them up we always get told what they have been up to, how they adjusted and behaved whilst we were gone. I feel really safe leaving the most important members of our family at Barnstone because they go above and beyond to keep them happy, safe and comfortable.

I boarded my beloved dog at Barnstones for three weeks, the service is excellent and they treated Bracksy like part of their family. I would highly recommend them.

From my dogs point of view ,this place is awesome they cuddle canoodle and care for her every whim she gets a play mate to cuddle and Romp with, and a special bath on departure she comes home smelling beautiful not like stale water or stinking like some other places we have been too she just loves the staff and goes off without a backward glance.

We have boarded our dogs cats and not just one generation at Barnstone kennels they have looked after several they are so good with all our pets as fussy as they are they love there cuddles and here they accommodate them willingly the attention to detail and love of there charges is evident from the word go.

Awesome , service and the care and attention shown was amazing we will be back they all (the staff) showed their love to my pets and the whole experience was a piece of cake .

Lisa and her family at Barnstone were referred to me by a friend after my beloved Labrador came back from a short stay at another "so called" reputable boarding kennel worse for wear. My wife and I were allowed a behind the scenes look at the facilities at Barnstone and were immediately put at ease. Needless to say my dog is now in great hands at Barnstone and I can not talk highly enough about the way my dog is treated, loved and cared for. She is exercised daily and returned home bathed at no extra expense. My Lab used to get very anxious when she saw the suitcase - now she runs to the car in anticipation for her holiday too. Thank you to Lisa and her team. You've got our business for life!

After a bad boarding experience 3years ago, we didnt think we would be comfortable boarding again. After much research and visiting sites we were continually thinking of the kindness and compassion we recieved when 'interviewing' Barnstone. Their grounds are beautifully kept, and they have a real love for all the animals. On arrival Lillian and Murphy went straight to Marcel and happily trotted off the back with him (almost without a look back... very uusual). When we picked them up they were energectic, happy, healthy and freshly bathed, A hard tast in itself :)!. They were comfortale with the two male handlers who bought them out, so much so Lillian went to go back with one. We cannot thank Barnstone enough for the care they showed our furchildren, and the patience, respect and kindness they showed to us. We have already booked again for Christmas.
