I have been using this business for approximately 4 years. Prior to this I had been seeing another local physiotherapist for at least 2 years with little results.
My problem stemmed from computer use in my work likened to RSI. I initially approached my doctor who used to only prescribe me with panedine forte & did not on any occasion recommend I see a physiotherapist which caused me at least a couple of years of unnecessary pain and drug intake.
The pain used to be so unbearable that I would sometimes find myself in tears & unable to work for days. It really effected my life at the time.
One day a friend recommended that I find a good physio, I found a local one that was closest to my home. For two years on a weekly basis he treated me. The relief would be short lived so it was necessary for me to see him on a weekly basis. Little did I know at the time that there were better professionals in this field & upon discussing my experience with a mutual friend they suggested I try another business.
St Kilda Physiotherapy Centre seemed to be the right choice, they were an established business having operated for over 20 years. They were also close to where I lived at the time.
I was immediately impressed with their centre. After being guided into one of the treatment rooms I was most impressed to see a framed photograph on the wall of Cathy Freeman being treated by one of the therapists.
I was fortunate to be treated by Amir, he was very gentle and shocked me during my first treatment to discover my spine was crooked! I was amazed/disappointed/angry that the physiotherapist I had been seeing for 2 years prior didn't fix this or deliberately didn't so I would have to see him on a weekly basis for treatments.
It took Amir about a month to correct my problem. He is amazingly gentle during treatments and the results are amazing. I felt like I had a brand new body!
Since then I have only had to see Amir a handful of times over the years. I owe this practice so much for being able to restore my confidence that there are great business professionals out there.
A treatment costs about $65, if you have private health insurance it's about $20 cheaper.
I actually looked up this centre after reading 2 great recommendations on WOMOW for Dr Ross Hill who set up the practice. I read about his team and saw that Clive Lipinski was a physio as well as an acupuncturist. I had had good success with acupuncture some years ago for a back problem so was keen to try him out. Clive is very calm and professional. He knows his physiology - seemed to find all my problem spots. I was a looser at the end of the treatment and also learned that my neck problems were likely to be causing my eye ache and headaches I've been getting.
Approximate cost: $65
