Altar Bistro

Lovely looking restaurant located in an old church on the main street. As it was sunny we sat outside but when we went inside to pay we could see what a lovely venue it was with crisp white tablecloths and sparkling glassware. Would be ideal for a special meal, I think. We only had snacks and while the thrice cooked chips were delicious, the portion was so small, we could have done with several serves! The coffee was also rather underwhelming. I suspect this place caters more for your fine dining, evening crowd than it does for your weekend coffee-and-snack brigade.

Went here a couple of months ago with friends for something light to eat. The bistro is actually located in a small old church, very nicely decorated inside, clean, seating well laid out, meals a bit expensive, but they are quality meals. On this occassion I had some coffee and cake, as did a couple of my friends while the men had to try some steak. They said it was pretty good, but to pricey. Well I certainly enjoyed my coffee and cake. The staff were friendly and attentive. But I do prefer some of the other Cafes that Willunga have to offer. There really is a mixture, a good choice so you really need to go for a drive one weekend and see what they have to offer. You wont be disappointed.
