Affordable Skylights was founded on the Mornington Peninsula over 20 years ago by Chris & Robyne Richardson, with the goal of providing clients all over Melbourne with energy-efficient solutions through the products we offer.
Through the years, Affordable Skylights has established its reputation as a leading daylighting, skylight, and ventilation specialist with a wide variety of products and services that are energy-saving and environmentally sustainable.
Our range of products is supplied by SolarBright International, a pioneering manufacturer of environmentally sustainable products that have been specially engineered to perform at the highest level.
With 20 years of experience in the skylight industry, the management of SolarBright International successfully engineered and developed the new MAXLIGHT® series, released in February 2014.

As you know, I am legally blind, but I am also very fit and active. I keep myself busy and have better things to do with my time; however, I find myself often gravitating to my bathroom and enjoying the skylight, even on cloudy days.

Should have done it sooner!
I wholeheartedly recommend Chris and Affordable Skylights for the quoting and installation of skylights.
Chris was very prompt, and if he said he would do something or be there at a time, he was. He was a friendly person who discouraged unnecessary spending.
The products recommended were the MaxLED 400mm skylights, and they are fantastic, but the only problem now is that I think that I have forgotten to turn off the light. The dark kitchen and study are now bright again.
I cannot recommend them more highly.

I recently had Chris install a skylight in my living room. As there is a verandah the room tended to be gloomy. Chris answered my phone query promptly,made a home visit and explained clearly what would be the best way of going about it.
I accepted quote and job was done within a week.
I am delighted with result. I was a tad worried that it may look invasive both inside and out however that is not the case.

Chris has the wonderful qualities of openness, honesty, and good grace. He was clear about where I could put skylights, where I couldn’t and why. Affordable skylights
Chris came to our home to give us a measure and quote to see if his product was going to be suitable for our new house which had some pretty dingy areas and we can honestly say we’ve never met a more honest business owner, he’ll tell you straight how to tackle the project at hand without being pressured to purchase more than what you want or need. He installed 3 Maxlights and now when entering those areas during the day we don’t need to turn the lights on to see what we are doing and they look great. Get this - he took away all of his mess and even vacuumed his work areas.
Your pride in your company and workmanship are a credit to you, we can’t thank you enough Chris and will have no hesitation to refer you to friends, family and associates.

I originally only wanted a small skylight for a darkened hallway, but when Chris came and showed us the product we finished up getting 2, a small one in the hall and a bigger one in the kitchen area. , took advantage of the free LED lights as well. WOW!!! Called Affordable Skylights as we had a very dark kitchen and family room.
Chis came out within a couple of days to inform us of the product, installation process and quote.
He was prompt, courteous and very confident in his product.
We were given an installation time and they delivered earlier than the date given.
The skylight was installed and delivered exactly what was explained to us during the quote time.
The installation was fast, clean and service superior. Barely knew he was cutting a hole in our ceiling and in and on our roof.
It was installed on a dark gloomy Mornington day but the light that came in was unbelievable. No light required to be on. I can see this is definitely going to make a difference to our electricity bill as we required lights to be on on the kitchen and family room aĺl the time during the day to be able to see.
If you are thinking about Skylights, don't look beyond Affordable Skylights. (We did get quotes from other companies) they were Affordable and delivered what they promised.

Chris put 3 tubular skylights in my kitchen, bathroom and ensuite today and now I’m asking myself why didn’t I do it years ago? I keep going to turn the light off which of course isn’t on. I think I’ll be getting another one in the laundry.Thanks Chris for a great job and you even made sure my dog stayed inside whenever you had to go out to your van. Ps now I can see dirty marks on the floor which I couldn’t see before. LOL
