This is the closest thing you'll get to an izakaya in Sydney. Any criticism of the food comes, quite frankly, from ignorance about what izakaya-style food actually is: delicious snacks designed to be eaten with a few beers, sakes or shochus and shared with a couple of people. Great place.
Great place, I come here a few times every month and the service is always great. It's not the most authentic Japanese restaurant but the food is great. I always have the Tokyo Joes Bento box, great servings, maybe slightly over priced but quality is very high, tempura is well recommended.
This little restaurant is a superb find. The staff are friendly, attentive and always willing to recommend their favourites. The sashimi platter is the nicest I've tried (although a little on the small side last visit), and the entree tempura mushrooms wrapped in whiting fillets melt in the mouth. We tried the teriyaki beef last time, great quality and beautifully cooked.
Has a small menu, but really great value, and tasty Japanese food! The place is pleasant and the staff friendly. Great for takeaway with 10% discount. will be coming back!
This place is tucked away at the end of an old sytle arcade in Sutherland, which I think is a pity as some people will miss out. They sell excellent, fresh sushi and the girls working there are so nice and polite.
This is some of the best quality sushi around in Sydney. It was fresh, handled perfectly, and with great attention to detail. And have you had the soy-braised pork spare ribs? This is one of the best dishes I've had in months, salty and sweet, melt off the bone, the flavours balanced.
Small cramped place , not a large variety of selections , normal sushi place good for a takeaway , value is good for the size . been here a couple of times and will be back for more
Excellent entertainment value! It's worthwhile to pay an extra $4.00 on the "combination set menu" and get the Wagu Beef! The meat was cooked to perfection! The chef, Honda was so funny and entertaining!
A real find at the recently re-developed Chester Hill Square. Its certainly not flash but theres plenty of choice between fresh sushi and sushi rolls, as well as cooked foods, both on display or off the menu. In the recent cold snap, theres been nothing better than a nice warming bowl of silky udon noodles which can be enhanced with the addition of tempura or chicken katsu (whatever its called, but for all intents and purposes, its a schnitzel!). Really lovely young japanese people offer a sweet service. In all a lunchtime experience in the local area that is worth looking forward to.
Great value japanese, best you can get this side of the north shore. The food has been consistently good, have only been disappointed once in a long line of visits (Everyone has an off day, and I've been back many times since). Their deep frieds are great, crisp and clean. Sashimi is fresh, the grilled kingfish head is a must for serious fish-lovers, as is the deep-fried flounder. Prompt and friendly service, and I'm always pleasantly surprised when the bill comes around.
