My washing machine wasn't oscillating and I found AA's number in my local paper (a very handy tool when searching for a local helpful appliance repairer).

Adam came out and sussed the non-oscillation to two possible issues. We opted to fix the cheaper of the two issues at Adam's recommendation and if it didn't resolve the problem he would come back and replace the other more expensive part.

I was happy with this course of action as I didn't want to spend more than I had to. Sadly, the cheaper problem wasn't the cause of my issues, and I had to call Adam out again.

He responded promptly and fixed the problem. Will "happily" use again - "happily" in inverted comma's because no one likes the hassle of dealing with broken large appliances!

Whilst visiting my parents in Radelaide we noticed that their fridge was not cooling (10 degrees is not ideal for milk!)

Mum called King Refrigeration having found their number in the local paper. There was no "call out fee" but they do charge $50 for the first 30 minutes. Mum called and they gave an indication they would be over between a 2 hour time frame (better than a lot of places that say "we'll call half an hour before but be home all day!!).

The father and son team discovered the problem and they fixed it on the spot. Price for the job was $300 less a pensioners discount of 10%.

Mum was happy she didn't have to shell out $1500+ for a new fridge - this one is 27 years old (they don't build them like they used to!!)

However, about 3 hours later whilst watching television, 8pm in the evening, we lost power! We unplugged the fridge and flicked on the safety switch to find that it was the problem and it had shorted the power.

Mum was on the phone to Kings and they were happy to come out and check out the problem!! They were over within 30 minutes and found that the heater was now the problem. They replaced the heater with a reconditioned one and DID NOT CHARGE ANYTHING FOR THEIR TIME AND EFFORT!! Mum and Dad were stoked!

Fantastic, prompt service that you rarely find now-a-days. They took the time to explain the problems and how they were going to fix it. Can't recommend them enough.

Its a pity they are not located in Sydney!

This has easily become my go to cafe in Redfern (I have a cousin who lives in the area and we have struggled to find a regular breakfast spot). While this has been her regular for sometime, the chef and menu is fairly new and it is delish (the menu, not the chef). I enjoyed the big veggie breaky and for $14 there is plenty of food on the plate. There are a variety of sides available and plenty of options to choose from for breakfast. (Lunch is also available but since I was there at 9am, I didn't study that menu too closely).

The coffee (campos) is excellent and the staff are very friendly.

Only fault: no usable high chair for my little one. Breakfast with a wriggly 9 month old on ones lap makes for difficult eating.

We love this place for the view and the Devonshire Tea!

On a beautiful Sydney day the outdoor seating area is a must to take in the views, fresh air and (but for my children) the tranquility of the area.

The lunch meals are generous, delicious and despite the fact you are paying a little more (because of the views and the tourist destination that it is) it is worth it.

The scones are large - so if you have eaten a meal but still fancy the the scones with cream and home made strawberry jam (its rather divine) then grab a serve to share between two (and order a second drink).

Service is friendly and while not the speediest, there is no huge rush because the views are great.

Inside is great on a wet cold day. They are closed on Tuesdays and may close lunch service early on the weekends due to functions (weddings and the like).

I had lunch here, but it was a late lunch so the fact that I was served quickly may have something to do with the fact it wasn't in that 12-2pm lunch rush.

I ordered a green chicken curry and made the mistake of ordering a take away - the dish came in two separate containers (rice and curry - good if you were planning to take away) but I thought given I wasn't planning on sitting in their dining area, that takeaway was the only option (tip - just say you are eating in if you don't want the hassle).

The curry was good and tasty. Not overtly spicy and for $13.50 you get what you expect for a restaurant that has to pay the Westfield rent!

This is not an overly large cafe and in the past I have found it too difficult to grab a coffee (simply because it was always busy and the door way involved a small step and is difficult to navigate with a pram) however, the owners have now catered specifically for the pram and doggy peeps with a takeaway window! Huzzah!

The outdoor tables are now closer to the street allowing for foot traffic to pass by the window and allow you to engage with the barista, place your order and takeaway your coffee!

The coffee is excellent and is another alternative to my regular cafe, esp on a Monday!

Every time I visit this store I find that the staff (the older ones - perhaps the owners) seem to frown upon the children looking through the books (and I am not suggesting the children are doing anything more than sitting and looking at books quietly). I find it a joke that they shake their head when the children are enjoying the books given that bookstores are an endangered species. I just don't feel this store is welcoming. Further prices are a joke compared to what you can buy books for online. And further, when I was in the store the other day I noticed they had some deliveries sitting on the floor - one particular box looked extremely familiar to me as it was a bookdepository.co.uk labelled box... if buying online is good enough for Dymocks, its good enough for me.
