Very old Motel that could do with some updating, but it did provide all the basics needed for an overnight stay. Small room and small bathroom, but all functional. To book in you need to go to the petrol station next door. Most annoying thing about the stay was being woken early by all the passing log trucks! Compared to other Motels was a bit overpriced.

While on holiday, we popped into the Nelson Hotel for a meal. We thought being a fishing area a seafood Platter would be the way to go, but were somewhat disappointed with the platter, as every single item was battered and deep fried and the serve yourself salad was very basic. On the positive side the serving size was generous and at $42 for 2 people, it was good value. The pub and food is definitely, small town, old style.

Recently dined here with a group of 8, it was a bit crowded, but the service was still reasonably quick. I enjoyed a very nice Veal Scallopi, while others in the group enjoyed Pizza and Salmon Salads - there was so much smoked salmon they actually shared it with others, as they couldn't eat it all! The menu was varied and the prices were quite reasonable.

Popped into this cafe recently, for a coffee and cake. Thoroughly enjoyed a lightly toasted, tasty fruit bread with walnuts and a good decaf coffee. Haven't seen fruit bread before and it was much tastier the usual banana bread. My daughter enjoyed their banana bread and a hot chocolate. Thought they were very reasonably priced, with the two breads and drinks costing $13 or $14 in total.

Spotted this cafe in the small township of Meredith and decided to try it when returning from Ballarat to Geelong. The guy running the cafe was very enthusiastic and friendly and made it a very enjoyable lunch stop for my daughter and myself. The food and coffee were also great and very reasonably priced. We both enjoyed a vegetarian, sweet potato, spinach and feta(?) quiche style dish, which was beautifully presented with on a large plate with smaller dishes on the plate containing chips, salad and salad dressing. My daughter enjoyed the chocolate milkshake and the decaf coffee I had was one of the better decafs I've had. Definately worth a visit if your passing through Meredith.

Popped in here with my daughter and was surprised to find a modern, spacious cafe with a good menu - I thought it would be a 'tradie' quick food place, but it's not. Was told it has new management as from 4 weeks ago. Enjoyed vegetarian quiche/slice with chips and salad, coffee and a nice coffee/walnut cake, all at a reasonable price. We were served by the 'newbie' so the service was a bit slow, but that will improve. We took a menu for the workplace, as you can phone an order and pick up. Enjoyed the food and coffee, so will be back again.

Recently had a new fence erected at our rental property. Belmont Fencing provided a detailed and competitive quote, charging $52 per metre. We chose to remove the old fence ourselves, which would have cost another $15 per metre. They completed the work quickly and on the date they said they would. the new fence looks good and as far as I can tell they have done a good job. Only complaint would be that they left all the paling offcuts behind, but maybe all fencing contractors do that, I don't know.

Dined here recently with friends and enjoyed a really great meal. The quality and presentation of the food was excellent and the food tasted just as good as it looked. I enjoyed a delicious pan fried chicken dish served on smashed potatoes, with green beans. It was served with a very tasty white/herb sauce. The Barramundi looked superb and was thoroughly enjoyed, as was the steak and another chicken dish ordered by my friends. The somewhat expensive dessert ($12) of sticky date pudding with caramel sauce was also delicious. My friends also enjoyed their apple crumbles. The only disappointment was there was no gluten free desserts, so one friend did miss out. The chef did offer to do a fresh fruit and ice-cream dessert for her and we were told they are re-doing the menu and there will be a gluten free dessert included in the new menu. I would definitely recommend The Lord Nelson for an excellent meal out, just be aware it is a bit more expensive than many pubs, but the food is excellent.

Took my Mother here recently for lunch and we both thoroughly enjoyed our meal. As the $10 foccacias are quite large and the fillings generous, we shared a chicken parmi foccacia. When ordering I mentioned we were sharing the meal and they cut it in half and served us with individual plates and cutlery without having to be asked. We also enjoyed a coffee and a piece of delicious carrot cake each. It was a good place to take my elderly mother, as parking was easy and it wasn't too crowed.

My sister took me here recently for my birthday and we enjoyed a very nice lunch. The setting or decor of the place is basic, but the food was excellent. I enjoyed a slightly spicier, than usual chicken scallopi and my sister feasted on a large serving of seafood chilli risotto, which she said was delicious. Dessert was a lovely mini pav, which I enjoyed. We ate off the slightly more expensive menu, but they also have a limited menu at cheaper prices and fixed price meal deals.
