Cheap delicious pizzas. Big variety to choose from. Great bar and lounge area to relax in. The rooftop terrace is also fun to sit on on hot summer nights.

Food is fresh and tasty. The chicken and avocado toasted sandwich always hits the spot. Service is good and the location is easy to get to. If you can't find parking on Sydney Road, try the Safeway carpark off Albert St, just make sure you grab a ticket from the machine (they will fine you if you don't!).

Shanghai Dumpling is definitely value for money. Their mushroom dumplings are the best in town and for roughly $6.50 for 20, probably the cheapest as well! They have a variety of noodle and rice dishes as well as "vegetarian duck". Not quite sure what that is but extensive menu nonetheless. The service is horrible, they rush you in, rush you out and sometimes you have to share tables with strangers. No biggie, food is great and cheap, what more can you ask for!

Delicious fresh Japanese food at very reasonable prices. The vegetarian set "Zen Set" is fantastic value. The hot pot or sukiyaki experience is fun to try and you won't leave feeling hungry that is for sure! If you have a group larger than 2 I recommend calling ahead to reserve a table as this place is always packed (a good sign).

Great Brunswick cafe. Best coffee in Melbourne brewed by excellent baristas. Service can be a little slow at times but the food is fantastic. Check out the blackboard for soup of the day and other specials, otherwise stick to the classic Minor Breakfast and you'll be set for the rest of your day.

They serve great pizzas at this Brunswick institution. Prefer to get takeaway as their dine in service can be horrendously slow, especially on a Friday and Saturday night (I'm talking an hour plus wait on food). Specials don't really change at all. Ok value for money. Garlic bread is the best I've had in a long time.

Minimo offers standard cafe fare. You can see that they are trying to be trendy and hip but they just don't get there. Full of mums and bubs every time I've been, not really the place to relax and read the paper. Go to A Minor Place just around the corner, best coffee in Melbourne and much better food at roughly the same prices.

This charming cafe in West Preston is a must visit on my cafe rotation. The food is fresh and delicious and the specials are always interesting. Sometimes they do sell out early of the specials so get in before the lunchtime hoardes! Coffee is great, as is their teas which are served in HUGE teapots, giving you many many cups worth. In summer it is lovely to sit out the back in the courtyard and relax with friends. Service can be slow but worth the wait.

vege2go is a small cafe that specialises in "vegetalian" food. Or vegetarian italian style food. Their vegetable lasagne is delicious. As is their stuffed capsicum dish. Their prices can be a bit high but the food is tasty. Ignore the horrible wannabe Ikea interior and you'll love the place. Wish they were open Sundays. Kinda silly that they aren't.

This bakery is the best in Melbourne. From breads to cakes to pies to salads, they have something for everyone. Their vegetable pie is the best I've tasted, just make sure you get relish on top. Their soups are very good also and there are normally 4 different types to choose from. The olive sourdough baguette is to die for and I'd forgive you for eating it all in one session. Try this place out, preferably on a week day when it isn't so packed!
