This dentist clinic has a few dentists - I've seen Dr Kathryn who's youngish. I was happy with my visit here - felt like it was comprehensive, but didn't go over the top and do all sorts of x-rays etc that weren't necessary. I got some practical advice and tailored advice, eg come back in 9 months, instead of just telling me to come back in 6 months like lots of dentists do, even if you don't need it. Clinic is nice setting with all extras like TVs to watch etc.
Luisa Clare makes leather handbags. They are quite casual and funky. I think they are good quality, though I did have a problem with a zip on mine, but when I took it back in Luisa was able to fix it for me on the spot.
This pub has something for everyone, I live round the corner and have gone there with a wide range of friends and family. Downstairs is a normal bar. On the first floor is a nice restaurant. Food is good but it can be a bit loud, so in summer it's good to get a table on the balcony. Generally have to make a reservation to get a table in the restaurant. On the second floor is the Elephant Bar which is really loungy and elegant. Up on the roof is a terrace with great views. Sometimes the terrace is shut.
This market is on every Saturday. I think it's a cut above the average market, there are some real gems here. But some ordinary stuff too. Still I find it's always a good way to spend an hour when visitors are in town, and I generally end up buying something myself. There are some great clothes (if you hunt them out), handbags, hats, baby clothes and a girl who does amazing ceramic vases up the back of the market. Can get insanely busy on sunny days.
Fantastic Japanese food, but the restaurant is tiny and doesn't take bookings, so you have to prepared for a wait (but the pub is just a few doors down while you wait). It's BYO which is good, and there's a bottleshop next door. I really like the atmosphere, as there is just one big table and you can watch the chef work. Good luck getting in but the food is worth it.
This is a normal pub, but it shows AFL on big screens. I don't have foxtel, and really missed being able to watch my team play when I moved to Sydney, but could nearly always see it at the Windsor Castle. I think maybe it's quite a rare thing, because I know quite a few people from other states who struggled to find any other pub in Sydney which shows AFL.
The Paperplace has 2 city stores which are right near each other. I ordered our wedding invitations from here, as well as orders of service, menus and place names. They were great helping with the design, and turn around time was very good. No short cuts were taken - everything, including calligraphy, was perfect when we picked it up. They made it really easy.
I love this place. The generally don't do led yoga classes, instead teach you a sequence and let you go for it. I find this means you have to learn and think about postures more and I get a lot more out of the style. The instructors are fantastic and always able to spend lots of time with you. I started off with the beginner's course, which was a good way to go, and after that, can go to any of the time slots, though Sat mornings are still quite beginner focussed.
The instructors are really encouraging.
Beauty Grace in the Met Centre on George Street. Clean and big salon that's in the middle of the city which is convenient for lunchtime appointments. They are also open til 7 most nights which is great for an after work appointment too. Waxing service is good - quick and the therapists are nice - and a decent price.
I have seen both Hamish and Nick here, and have been very happy with the cuts. Salon has a nice low key atmosphere. The guys take a few minutes to properly talk to you to find out what cut to do before they start.
