Tasty food that you can take away or dine in with. Pizza, pasta and other mains - this restaurant serves very good food, and all their ingredients are fresh, not pre-packaged or cheap preserved goods.
Puffing Billy is a quaint little cafe close to the home of the Puffy Billy Railway. They serve big breakfasts of bacon, eggs and toast; lunches from burgers to something a little more fancy like their foccacias.

This is by far the best noodle bar i have ever been to. You pay for quality, but it's still quite cheap considering how much food you get and how delicious it is! The staff are very friendly and will cater to your specific needs (ie. dietary requirements etc). They have a wide selection of noodles, soups and rice.

The food is very tasty and you'll usually get a generous portion. The major down point about this restaurant is that inside it's not very clean, a lot of the time the tables will still have old plates from previous customers etc, even when it's dead and there are no customers. Sometimes the glasses are slightly dirty, but if you're craving Chinese food and are in Belgrave, this is the place to go.
Bells Kitchen make the best everything! From fish to potato cakes and dim sims to burgers and souvlaki's - bells will make you anything you want, even deep fried chocolate bars (not just mars bars!!). Everything is fresh and tasty, the batter they use is unlike anywhere else - it's always crispy and golden. Their chips are the best i've ever had, always crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. MMM!
I'm not usually a fan of steakhouses, but Hog's Breath is a bit different. The staff are vibrant and friendly, service is usually fast and being situated in Knox Ozone makes this resturant a convenient and fun place to sit down and eat lunch with friends. There is also a bar inside.
India Gate is hidden away (down some stairs) in the main strip of shops in Belgrave. It serves as a great intimate dining experience or just a get together with family or friends. The food there is served in traditional bowls, plates etc which adds to the experience.

The food is amazing, both the taste and presentation. The atmosphere is very laid back which makes it a wonderful place to catch up with family or friends. If you become a semi-regular customer, they may even give you some discount vouchers, they did for us! We got two $10 off dinner vouchers that lasted for about two months. I would definitely go back there again and again!
The best Indian food I have ever eaten! I think it's a family business. The service is very speedy even in busy times and extremely friendly! The food is very traditional and they take a lot of pride in what they are serving to you. They were also recommended by The Age Epicure - Best of Indian 2007.
