Friendly service. Key-cutting. Always happy to support the local school with donations of goods. Cheap drycleaning - $10 for 2pc suit, $4 for each additional item.
Massage and beauty treatments offered as well as spray tans. Koula, the masseusse does amazing rememdial massage and is very obliging if you want her to concentrate on certain muscles or sore or tender areas. Very reasonable prices. You'll like her if you want firm massage.
$45 for 30min, $85 for 1hr, $110 for 90min.
I have been visiting this practice for over 7 years. Children and pensioners are bulk-billed. 2 GPs - male GP bulk-bills and sees patients in order of arrival, the female GP charges a gap fee for some consultations and is by appt only. Both very experienced and caring. The waiting room is kid-friendly with books and toys.
I have been using this dentist for over 10 years. If you have private health insurance you will rarely need to pay any gap fee. Excellent with young children. The only downside is they are usually running quite late with appointments so expect to spend some time in the waiting room.
The local cafe for Hurlstone Park. Service is prompt and attentive but could be a little friendlier given that mainly locals use this place. They offer the usual cafe fare - salads, toasted sandwiches, cake, coffee. Magazines available. Some tables on the foot path but a little awkward as the footpath is on an incline.

Wonderful views of Bondi Beach. My kids loved the Wagyu spaghetti meatballs. Rocket tagliatelle, king prawns, scorched cherry tomatoes, fresh herbs, sugar snap peas in prawn
and white wine reduction was delicious. For dessert we tried poached honey pear tarte tatin with praline and ginger ice cream - $14 and vanilla crème brûlée with mango sorbet and date compote - $14 - both very good. The ice-cream and sorbet was home-made.
Although they have table-cloths and look reasonably formal they were relaxed about having our 5 and 7 year old there - best to get an outside table or one on the outside perimeter.
The staff were friendly and approachable.

Authentic Mexican food - great tasting mole sauce made with Mexican chocolate. The menu includes both flour and corn tortillas, empanadas, beans, green tomato sauce.
Will cater for vegans. BYO. Live music was playing on a Wednesday night although a little too noisy if you wanted to talk.
Approximate cost: $18
Amazingly delicious gelato. Espresso coffee, chilli hot chocolate and chai lattes also available. Seating available.
Has won numerous medals at Sydney Royal Show.
The best gelato I've tasted in Sydney - the first place I've seen that makes chocolate sorbet. Other delicious flavours: coconut in lime, ginger and lemon, strawberries in balsamic. You could taste the lime zest in the coconut in lime flavour.
Small size (2 flavours) $4.50, Medium size (up to 3 flavours) $5.90, Large size also available.
Help yourself to glasses of water.
Will definitely come back.
This is the cafe of choice for local parents - space for your kids to play with the toys provided - it's carpeted so it doesn't get too noisy like a lot of coffee shops. There's a couple of comfy lounges. The menu is limited but service is fast and friendly and the 2 sisters who run it make an effort to get to know you - they seem to know all their customers (and their kids!) on a first-name basis - top marks for customer service!
A great place for parents with kids to have a coffee and a light meal where you can sit and read or catch up with friends or just relax without having to stress about the kids 'behaving' and sitting still.
For those without kids the coffee shop is quiet in the afternoons when all the 'younger' patrons have gone home for a nap!
